DESCRIPTION

From the moment you walk through the front door you know its time to put your feet up and relax. This spacious, comfortable home has a light, airy quality which makes you want to kick off your shoes and enjoy the cool cement floors. Every window leaves you checking for the wildlife that is all around you. The home has an elegant simple feel with the sense of space and comfort resonant in the old colonial homes in Africa. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom occupies one full wing of this u shaped house. It's wonderful. The extra length king size bed is dwarfed by the size of the room. A massive walk-in cupboard area has a dressing table and leads to a large bathroom with His&Hers sinks and showers, as well as a large bath for two. The other 2 bedrooms occupy the other wing of the house; - The Blue Room has a queen size bed and the Green Room has 2 singles or a King Size bed, with a bathroom between the two rooms. The rooms all open onto a central patio/ pool area overlooking the bush and a well used waterhole. Close to the house is an exceptional enclosed boma with a serving hatch and there is a viewing deck from which you can observe the distant mountains bordering Mozambique and miles of bushveld in between. Truly words can't describe the sense of space and peace engendered from the Colonial House. It's a place you want to be, and will be again. All rooms have ceiling fans and the bedrooms all have air conditioners. There is a TV and we supply DSTV as well as a DVD. An excellent larder off the kitchen ensureslots of space for all your provisions and the kitchen is a winner. Open plan with lots of space and time to be with friends and family whilst preparing meals. A large fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle as well as a fully equipped kitchen ensure that this will be home from home. All linen, towels, and tea towels are provided as well as washing up liquid,&cloths. We provide 2 full time staff who assist you with washing up, cleaning and making beds, as well as setting up the boma and cleaning the braai area etc. We also offer a full laundry service if you require it.You are welcome to walk on the roads between 6am&6pm, and may bring pedal bikes if desired. There are 2 public swimming pools in Marloth Park, and the card needed to access the Municiple Area where you will find a pool, tennis court as well as a great picnic braai area overlooking the Crocodile River, will be on your keys. There are 2 supermarkets, a garage, bottle store, hardware and laundry, so you can stock up there. There is a private game reserve within Marloth Park called Lionspruit which is around 1500 hectares where you can view wildlife on a self drive basis, or book an open 4 x 4 game drive with one of the operators in Marloth Park. Crocodile Bridge Gate is only about 12 kms from Marloth Park so there is easy access into the KNP for day trips. Mozambique is a mere 30kms away and South Africans do not need a visa to visit. All in all there are a host of exciting things to do in this ‘Wild Frontier' region of Mpumalanga. The Colonial House is where you'll want to be.
