Indulge in breakfast and/or dinner made-with-care in our unique Fynbosskerm (enclosed lapa area with kitchens, braai, lounge with fireplace, dining room). Stay in the Victorian Bitou Valley House with Jacuzzi (s/c 6A, 2K), the Cape Dutch Protea Cottage (s/c 4A, 2K), the Forest studio unit (s/c 2A), or in one of our uniquely decoratedfynbos en-suite guestrooms (5 double/twin). The views are exquisite and our hospitality second to none. You will never feel so safe and cared for again. The atmosphere Relax completely on this “end of the road” 270 hectare farm - open spaces with an abundance of fynbos and bird life. Our viewsof the Bitou Valley and the Langkloof Mountains are truly breathtaking. Escape from the madness of people and traffic in Plett and Knysna and return to a peaceful sanctuary. Our lodge is small and family owned and professionally managed (over 10 years industry experience). We will look after everyneed that you have as much as possible, without being intrusive. Made for people who really need to charge their batteries, who need peace and tranquility. Remote, away from noise and pollution. To keep in line with our slogan, we do not have any TV's or telephones (good cell phone reception) inour rooms. Safety and security You can be assured of great safety and security, as the farm and surrounding areas are very private and safe, with virtually no people or car traffic passing through. There are “shade net” parking next to the rooms. Facilities&ActivitiesThe Fynbosskerm (Lapa) has a spacious indoor lounge (4“sitting” areas created) with huge windows to enjoy the view, leading to a deck with the pool. Breakfast/dinner can be enjoyed in a large dining room, separate tables. There are braai facilities outside (with two picnic tables), fitted with a rollout awning if required. The two kitchens are equipped with all modern appliances (Electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, 4 fridges etc.) There are also two gas burners. We have secured the indoor area totally from the elements and installed a coal stove and fireplace for use in winter. Firewood supplied, please bring own Blits&Charcoal.A big surprise to everyone is the shower/bath and toilet with a view, working with a gas geyser. A red flag indicates if it is occupied. Laze around the solar heated pool (deck with magnificent views) or for the more adventurous, take a hike down to the Bitou River and swim there. Other hiking routes are also available on the farm. Bring your mountain bike and explore the farm as well as the mountain bike trails through the Knysna forest a few kilometers away. Various 4 x 4 and 4 x 2 trips can be done, grade 1 – 3 if you have your own vehicle. A total of 22 kms of roadtake you to various viewpoints and a natural spring. The same routes are suitable for hiking or mountain biking.Forest horse rides available on a neighboring farm @ ± R120.00 per hour. Bookings essential. Food! A substantial farm breakfast (juice, coffee/tea, selection of cereal, homemade muesli, yogurt, fresh fruit, home baked muffin/scone or other, eggs/egg dishes, bacon and accompaniments) is includedin the B&B rate quoted for the Lodge rooms only (not s/c houses). We try to prepare a selection of dishes - who wants to eat the same boring bacon and eggs every morning, right?
