DESCRIPTIONThe Protea Hotel Thohoyandou is on the R524 to the Punda Maria Gate of the Kruger National Park (65km). Situated under an acacia tree forest on the outskirts of Thohoyandou, it is the only self-catering resort with a caravan park available in and around the capital of Venda.Thohoyandou, meaning head of the elephant, is at least 8 degrees warmer than the Southern Provinces in the winter months, making it the ideal escape from the winter chills.

The resort boasts two conference venues, seating up to 80 delegates cinema style seating and 60 schoolroom. This facility is also utilised for group and conference meals. Traditional braais can also be held in the acacia forest, while the nearby conference centre can seat up to 200 delegates.
