DESCRIPTIONKulungi Riverside Lodge is situated on the banks of the Olifants River in the vast Balule Nature Reserve which is part of the Greater Kruger Park and is a mere 30km from the Phalaborwa entrance gate to the Kruger.Kulungi offers comfortable thatched chalets each with their own en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, hair dryer, mosquito nets, mini bar, tea/coffee facilities and private patio where guest can savour the tranquillity of the haunting night sounds of Africa and view the abundant species of game, including four of the Big 5, drinking on the banks of the Olifants River or at the water hole in front of the chalets.Unwind during the heat of the day around the sparkling pool and later enjoy a cold sundowner on the lodges patio or at the cosy well stocked bar. An exquisite 3 course dinner will be served in the tastefully decorated lodge or alfresco under the stars.
The restaurant has a lovely light wooden and bush appearance with a well stocked bar. Meals include a Buffet Breakfast and 3 Course Dinner (Starters, Main Course and Dessert). By prior arrangements we are happy to provide a Picnic Basket or a Light Lunch in the restaurant or around the pool.
Early morning bush walks and evening game drives with a ranger will reveal the wonders of the bush and enthusiastic ornithologists can view over 300 species of birds including the shy Purple Crested Lourie, the fierce and majestic Bateleur, to the rare Pels Fishing Owl.
Golf enthusiasts can unwind on one of the picturesque courses within easy driving distance from Kulungi and a must would be at the renowned Hans Merensky Gold Course where it is common to see elephant, giraffe, warthogs, baboons and a variety of antelope crossing the rolling fairways.
