DESCRIPTIONWe are proud to announce that we have again been awarded 3 Stars for our Guest House.Blackwaters River Lodge lies on the banks of the Goukamma River, 12 kms from Knysna village and8 kms from Buffels Bay beach. We have 3 hectares of garden surrounded by the river and with spectacular views of the neighboring indigenous forest.Bird life is prolific, with trees having been planted especially to attract them to our gardens.25% (78 species) of Garden Route birds can be seen or heard throughout the year right here at Blackwaters River Lodge.For golfers there are four excellent courses within 60 kms from our lodge. We also have our own very challenging 9 hole mashie ( pitch&putt ) golf course on the property. Longest hole 140 meters, shortest 52 meters.For our guests, canoes are available to paddle down the river, we have a swimming pool, a private pub with a pool table. Parking is ample and safe. The prorieters, live in a cottage on the property and are, therefore, on hand day and night to ensure that the guests are well cared for.Our guests can have picnic tables down by the rivers edge, with braai facilities. Braai baskets are available on request for those guestwho would like to braai close to their rooms.The setting is unique, and visitors do love seeing the night skies of the Southern Hemisphere as the reflection of the lights of Knysna do not affect us.We offer a hearty continental buffet breakfast as well as bacon and eggs.For dinner our guests can opt for our home cooked“meal of the day” or local sea fish baked or on the coals, marinated ostrich steaks. Alternativelyvisit the restaurants in Knysna or Sedgefield. A transport service is available for those who do not want to drive.
